Listening to WInter

Winter calls us to go inward, to listen to the quiet and to rest. This is the time of the shadow that we often run away from because it’s easier to shun the dark and the cold than to embrace it. What happens when we still ourselves and take in the dark and the different type of beauty that surrounds us and that emanates from within us? If we can beholden the light that we are and trace our steps out into the magic of this beautiful earth and find the deepest gratitude that we can muster, the darkness will shift into something different, perhaps we will see it as important and necessary and even sacred. This time is of course colored by the shadow of Covid and all that is happening with our health as a planet, but my invitation is this: if even you can take 10 minutes a day and take some time to rest, meditate, be still, drink some hot tea or take a hot bath and feel some, even just a bit of magic within, something will shift ❤

Marin Nomad

As a photographer, writer, psychotherapist and nature lover, I am passionate about living in Marin County, CA. The perfect home base, Fairfax, CA is where I get out daily on the miles and miles of open space and find inspiration and plot my next journey out of Marin into the world. The Marin Nomad site was born in 2014 out of a desire to share some of what I experience here in Marin and during my travels. The world has been through a lot since then, especially recently and there a need more than ever to be out in the natural world.
