ON STINSON BEACH
APRIL 23, 2016, 11am – 3pm
The word EARTH has ART Embedded right in it!
so what better way to celebrate Earth Day than by creating art on the beach…
Join Zach Pine (the founder of this beautiful and creative celebratory event) community members, professional artists, and passers-by construct sculpture using sand, rocks, shells, seaweed and other beach treasures.
The gathering will take place rain, shine, or fog.
The event is at the south end of the beach (to the left as you face the ocean).
Come anytime 11am -3pm.
All ages welcome.
Unfortunately no dogs are allowed at this end of the beach
Carpooling is a great option especially on Earthday
During this playful event, participants work alone and in groups, transforming the beach into an evolving outdoor sculpture gallery. The intention behind the event is to create an experience that will inspire and energize people to care for and protect the earth not only on Earth Day, but throughout the year.
The event starts with beach cleanup/habitat restoration. Bags and gloves are supplied for cleanup.

A bit about the Founder Zach Pine
In 2005, environmental artist Zach Pine was searching for an Earth Day event that was in keeping with his socially engaged art practice: creating models and methods for collective creativity; connecting people of all ages with each other and with the natural world; and inspiring joy, spontaneity, and environmental action. He decided to host a small gathering at Stinson Beach: the First Annual Free Create-With-Nature Earth Day Celebration. Thanks to the Golden Gate National Parks Conservancy and the National Park Service Golden Gate National Recreation Area, he was able to create an all-volunteer event combining beach cleanup with creative activities aimed at
strengthening our connections to each other and the natural world.
